Google Business Profile

Google Business Profile Management

We keep your Google Business Profile accurate, complete and under your control, from verification and categories to reviews, unwanted edits, spam competitors and suspensions.

For a local business, your Google Business Profile is often the whole first impression. People see your stars, hours, photos and map pin, then call or drive over without opening your website.

That makes it painful when something goes wrong. Someone suggests an edit and your hours are wrong. A former employee still owns the profile. A competitor has stuffed “best emergency plumber” into their business name and sits above you in Maps. Or the profile is suspended with no explanation.

We keep the listing accurate, complete and firmly in your hands, and handle the problems that crop up in between.

What’s included

  • Ownership and access review. We confirm who manages the profile, remove old users, and make sure you hold primary ownership.
  • Profile optimization. Categories, services, hours, attributes, description and service areas, checked against how your business actually operates.
  • Edit monitoring. Regular checks for changes to your listing, and quick corrections when they’re wrong.
  • Review handling. Responses to Google reviews and reports of reviews that break Google’s policies.
  • Monthly reporting. Calls, website clicks and direction requests from Google’s Performance insights, in plain English.

How it works

1. Audit

We review the profile field by field, look for duplicate or unverified listings, check recent edits and read the reviews. We also look at competitors beside you in Maps, including any that seem to break Google’s rules.

2. Repair

We fix ownership first, because nothing else is safe until you control the profile. Then we correct details, clean up duplicates, answer outstanding reviews and file spam reports.

3. Protect

Ongoing checks catch unwanted edits, new reviews and fresh duplicates, and fresh posts and photos keep the profile current.

Unwanted edits, duplicates and spam

Anyone can suggest an edit to a Business Profile, and Google sometimes applies changes it gathers from other sources. Some are harmful: a changed phone number, a moved pin, or a business marked “permanently closed” by a competitor or prankster. We check regularly and correct the wrong ones.

Duplicate listings split your reviews and confuse customers. Fake listings, such as lead-generation pins at addresses where no business exists, push real businesses down. We report both through Google’s channels with supporting evidence.

For competitors who keyword-stuff their names or list fake addresses, we use Google’s Business Redressal Complaint Form and the suggest-an-edit option. Google decides what to act on, but documented reports are the most likely to get attention.

What we can and can’t do

We can keep your profile accurate, fix ownership, report violations and help you recover from problems. We can’t promise Maps rankings, force Google to remove a genuine review, or reverse a Google decision.

Genuine negative reviews stay up, and Google prohibits review gating, so we ask every customer for feedback rather than only the happy ones. For a full program across Google, Yelp and other sites, see review management.

How long it takes

Profile corrections usually happen within the first couple of weeks. Ownership requests and verification depend on Google’s process and whether the current owner responds, and can take from days to several weeks.

Spam and duplicate reports vary: some resolve in days, others need resubmitting. Suspension appeals are decided by Google, and some take longer than a few weeks. Changes in Maps visibility, if they happen, tend to build gradually over a few months.

Who it’s for

Any business that serves customers locally, from single-location shops to multi-location brands. It fits especially well for small businesses, restaurants and service-area businesses like plumbers, where Maps is often the main source of new customers.

Frequently asked questions

Who can edit my Google Business Profile?

The verified owners and managers you add can edit it directly. Members of the public can suggest edits, and Google may update details it finds elsewhere. That’s why regular checks matter: a wrong change needs spotting and correcting quickly.

How do I get ownership of my Google Business Profile back?

You can request ownership through Google. The current owner is asked to respond, and if they don’t, Google may let you verify and take over. We guide you through each step and the evidence Google asks for.

Can you remove a fake Google listing?

We can report it. Google reviews reports of fake and duplicate listings and removes those it confirms break its guidelines. Clear evidence, such as street-level photos showing no business at the address, makes a report stronger.

Why was my Google Business Profile suspended?

Common causes include keywords added to the business name, an address you can’t use for in-person customers, or a set-up that doesn’t match the business. Sometimes Google doesn’t say. We review the profile against Google’s guidelines, fix what we find and help you request reinstatement.
