How to Delete Your Quora Account (and Your Answers from Google)

To delete your Quora account, sign in on the website, open your settings and look for the option to delete or deactivate your account near the bottom of the privacy or account section, then confirm with your password. Quora holds deletion requests for a grace period, and signing in during that window cancels it. Before you delete your Quora account

1. Save the answers you want to keep. Quora has historically offered a way to request a copy of your data. Where that isn’t available or doesn’t cover everything, copy important answers into a document. Once deletion is final, they’re gone.
2. Make a list of your most visible answers. Search Google for your name plus “Quora” and write down the URLs that show up. You’ll use this list later to check they’ve dropped out.
3. Hand over any Spaces. If you own or moderate a Quora Space, add another admin before you leave or check what happens to the Space when its owner deletes their account.
4. Cancel Quora+ and stop earnings. If you pay for a subscription, cancel it through the store or payment method you used to buy it. If you’ve earned money through Quora’s creator programs, collect any balance first.
5. Remove connected logins. If you sign in with Google, Facebook or Apple, make sure you can still reach the account to confirm deletion.

Getting Quora answers out of Google

Once an answer is gone from Quora, the URL should show that the content no longer exists. Google usually notices on its next crawl. For copies on other sites, contact the site first. Many scraper sites have a contact address or a takedown form. A worked example

This scenario is illustrative, not a real client. Ines answered dozens of Quora questions in her twenties, including a sharp answer criticizing a former employer by name. She’s now applying for senior roles, and that answer is the third result for her name on Google.

1. She copies the answers she’s proud of, mostly technical ones, into a document to republish on her own site.
2. She deletes the answer about her former employer immediately, then deletes the account through settings.
3. She doesn’t sign in during the grace period.
4. After the deletion is final, the answer URL no longer shows her content. She uses Google’s refresh tool, and the result updates.
5. She finds one scraper site with a copy and sends a takedown request for her own writing. It’s removed.

Common mistakes

• Signing in “just once” during the grace period. It cancels the deletion.
• Deleting without saving good answers. Your best writing can be useful content for your own site.
• Expecting questions to vanish. Questions you asked may stay up without your name.
• Using false copyright claims. Filing a takedown for content you didn’t write is a legal risk and usually backfires.
