IdentityIQ Review: Plans, Prices and What to Check First (2026)
A research-based IdentityIQ review: what Secure Basic, Plus, Pro and Max include, September 2026 prices, the gaps in its public terms, pros and cons, and free alternatives.
IdentityIQ is a US identity theft protection and credit monitoring service with four plans, Secure Basic, Secure Plus, Secure Pro and Secure Max, priced from $8.49 to $31.49 a month on monthly billing as of September 2026. This IdentityIQ review finds it a credit-heavy option with useful extras such as rent and utility payment reporting, but the two cheaper plans monitor only one credit bureau, and we couldn’t find its refund policy or full terms on its public pages.
This review is research-based. We haven’t used an IdentityIQ account; every fact below comes from IdentityIQ’s own plans page, feature pages, marketplace page and FAQ, checked in September 2026. Plans and prices change, so check IdentityIQ’s pricing page before you buy.
Quick verdict
| IdentityIQ suits you if | Look elsewhere if |
|---|---|
| You’re in the US and mostly care about credit reports, scores and credit alerts | You want to read the refund policy before you pay (it wasn’t on its public pages) |
| You’d use credit-building tools such as rent and utility payment reporting | You want three-bureau monitoring at the lowest price |
| You want the option of a VPN and antivirus for a few dollars more | You want a free trial first |
| You want hands-on recovery help through a limited power of attorney | Data broker removal is your main goal |
What IdentityIQ is
IdentityIQ is the consumer identity protection brand of IDIQ, a company founded in 2009 and now based in Temecula, California. IDIQ also runs a credit score brand, MyScoreIQ, and IdentityIQ leans more toward credit than most identity suites.
IdentityIQ’s FAQ says charges may appear on your statement as “iiq*IdentityIQ.com”, which is worth knowing if you’re checking your card for unfamiliar charges.
How it works
You pick a plan, choose monthly or yearly billing, and decide whether to add a VPN and antivirus. Once enrolled, IdentityIQ monitors your credit file and other sources and sends alerts. Based on its plans page in September 2026, every plan includes:
- Dark web and internet monitoring for your personal details.
- SSN alerts and synthetic ID theft protection.
- Change of address monitoring, which IdentityIQ says uses the National Address Registry, USPS and the credit bureaus.
- File sharing network searches, lost wallet assistance and a checking account report.
- Opt-out IQ, which helps with junk mail and the Do Not Call list.
- US-based ID restoration, $1 million stolen funds reimbursement, and coverage for lawyers, experts and personal expenses.
The plans differ mainly on credit:
- Secure Basic: daily one-bureau credit report monitoring.
- Secure Plus: one-bureau monitoring, annual three-bureau credit reports and scores, and application monitoring alerts.
- Secure Pro: three-bureau credit monitoring, enhanced credit report monitoring, score change alerts, alerts on crimes committed in your name, and three-bureau reports twice a year.
- Secure Max: everything in Pro, plus monthly three-bureau reports and scores, a credit score simulator and tracker, fraud restoration with a limited power of attorney, and $25,000 identity theft insurance for family members.
IdentityIQ’s identity restoration page describes the limited power of attorney service as letting its specialists act on your behalf during recovery. Its plans page says its restoration specialists are certified by the Identity Theft Resource Center.
Coverage
Insurance and reimbursement
Every plan card lists $1 million stolen funds reimbursement, and the feature list describes $1 million identity theft insurance covering expenses such as lost wages and legal fees. The pages footnote this as “Underwritten by AIG”. Secure Max adds up to $25,000 in identity theft insurance for each qualified family member, and IdentityIQ’s homepage says family protection includes dark web and SSN monitoring for up to 10 dependents. We couldn’t find a summary of benefits on the public pages, so ask for the policy terms and exclusions before you rely on any figure.
Data broker removal
This is less clear. An IdentityIQ features page describes a data broker removal service, and “Data Removal” appears in the pricing page’s feature glossary. But none of the four plan cards lists it; they list Opt-out IQ for junk mail and Do Not Call. We couldn’t confirm which plans include data broker removal or how many sites it covers, so ask IdentityIQ before you buy if that’s why you’re interested.
Device security
The optional add-on includes a VPN with unlimited encrypted traffic for up to 10 devices, antivirus that IdentityIQ’s device protection page says runs on Bitdefender Total Security, and parental controls.
Countries
IdentityIQ’s prices are in US dollars and its features are built on US credit bureaus and USPS. We couldn’t confirm eligibility outside the US because its terms of service didn’t load as readable text.
IdentityIQ pricing (as of September 2026)
These are the prices on IdentityIQ’s plans page in September 2026. Each plan has two prices: without and with the VPN and antivirus add-on.
| Plan | Monthly billing | Monthly, with VPN and antivirus | Yearly billing (as shown) | Yearly, with VPN and antivirus |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Secure Basic | $8.49 a month | $10.49 a month | $86.61 a year | $106.99 a year |
| Secure Plus | $11.49 a month | $13.49 a month | $117.19 a year | $137.59 a year |
| Secure Pro | $21.49 a month | $23.49 a month | $219.19 a year | $239.00 a year |
| Secure Max | $31.49 a month | $34.99 a month | $321.21 a year | $351.80 a year |
The yearly toggle says “Save 15%” and shows each plan “billed as” the yearly amounts above. The per-month figures it shows next to them don’t divide evenly into those totals, so confirm the exact charge at checkout. Check IdentityIQ’s pricing page for current prices before you buy.
Trial, renewal, cancellation and refunds
- Free trial. IdentityIQ’s FAQ says it doesn’t typically offer a free trial, though it runs special offers from time to time.
- Canceling. The FAQ says you can cancel by calling Customer Care at 877-875-4347 during business hours or, where available, with the cancel button in your member dashboard.
- Refunds and renewal. We couldn’t confirm these. IdentityIQ’s terms of service page didn’t load as readable text with a standard request, and the member-site terms returned an access error. Ask IdentityIQ for its refund and renewal terms in writing before you pay, and check whether a yearly plan renews automatically.
Pros and cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Low entry price, from $8.49 a month | Secure Basic and Plus monitor only one credit bureau |
| Strong credit tools on upper plans: three-bureau reports, score simulator and tracker | Refund policy and full terms not readable on its public pages |
| $1 million stolen funds reimbursement on every plan | No free trial typically offered |
| Limited power of attorney for hands-on recovery on Secure Max | Data broker removal isn’t tied to a specific plan on the plan cards |
| Optional VPN and antivirus for a small extra charge | Phone cancellation only during business hours; dashboard cancel “where available” |
Privacy and trust considerations
Every identity protection service needs sensitive data to work, including your Social Security number and credit file. With IdentityIQ, a few points are worth checking:
- Get the terms before you pay. Because the refund and renewal terms weren’t readable on its public site, ask for them and keep a copy.
- Marketing and offers. IdentityIQ’s marketplace page says offers there may come from advertising affiliates and that it may earn a commission. That’s common, but it means some recommendations inside the service may be paid placements.
- Limited power of attorney. Letting specialists act for you can save a lot of time, but read exactly what the authority covers and how you end it.
- Rent and utility reporting. IdentityIQ’s FAQ says it needs payments to come from one linked bank account each month. Linking a bank account shares more of your financial data.
- Monitoring isn’t prevention. A free credit freeze at each bureau stops most new accounts being opened; alerts only tell you afterwards.
A worked example
This is an illustrative scenario, not a real client.
Keisha rents her apartment and is working to improve her credit before applying for a car loan. She also got a breach notice from a retailer last month.
- She freezes her credit at the three bureaus, and plans to lift it only when she applies for the loan.
- She pulls her free reports at annualcreditreport.com and disputes an old address that isn’t hers.
- She looks at IdentityIQ because rent reporting could help her credit file. She notes that three-bureau monitoring starts at Secure Pro, not Basic.
- Before paying, she calls IdentityIQ and asks for the refund and renewal terms in writing, and which plan includes rent reporting.
- She handles people-search listings separately with free opt-out forms, since data removal isn’t clearly part of any plan.

Our free options first
123 Reputation Management doesn’t offer credit monitoring, identity theft insurance or breach monitoring. Our guides to ways to prevent identity theft and what to do if your identity is stolen walk through them.
- Our free Reputation Scanner, launching soon. A self-search tool that will find harmful results about you, rank the top 10 negative results by seriousness, and draft removal requests, including for personal information and doxxing, that you review and send yourself. It will be free to use, with no account and no billing. See how the scanner will work.
- Do-it-yourself opt-outs. Our guide to removing yourself from people-search sites and our data broker opt-out list cover the major sites for free.
No service, paid or free, removes everything: listings reappear, some sites ignore requests, and public records stay public. Our guides on whether data removal services are worth it and how data broker removal services work explain why.
Another paid option: Aura
If you want three-bureau monitoring, data removal and device security in one plan, Aura is the obvious comparison. As of September 2026, Aura’s Individual plan costs $12 a month billed annually or $15 monthly, includes three-bureau credit monitoring on every adult plan and data removal from 425+ sites, and comes with a 14-day free trial and a 60-day money-back guarantee on annual plans bought direct.
