Its adult plans combine credit monitoring, identity theft insurance, fraud help and device security tools with a data removal feature that sends opt-out requests to more than 425 data broker and people-search sites. This Aura review finds it a sensible pick if you want identity protection and data broker removal in one US subscription, and poor value if data removal is the only thing you need.

What Aura is
Aura sells plans for individuals, couples and families, plus a separate Kids plan that doesn’t include data removal. The adult plans are built around identity theft protection. According to Aura’s pricing page, they include:
- Credit monitoring.
- Identity theft insurance, with amounts that vary by plan.
- Fraud remediation to help you work through an identity theft or fraud incident.
- Device and account tools: a VPN, antivirus and a password manager.
- Online data removal from data brokers, people-search sites, junk mailers and Google search results.

How Aura’s data removal works
Aura’s data removal page describes the process in outline:
- It sends opt-out requests to 425+ data brokers, people-search sites and junk mailers. Aura says processing can take up to 30 days.
- It keeps checking. Aura says it re-scans daily.
- It reports progress. You get monthly reports.
Aura is candid that some brokers refuse or delay removal, and that some requests need your authorization before they go ahead.
Separately, Aura offers a Google search cleanup: you review your search results, pick links you want removed, and Aura submits the request to Google. That’s similar in spirit to Google’s own free Results about you tool, which lets you request removal of results showing your phone number, home address or email yourself.
Coverage
As of September 2026, Aura’s pricing and data removal pages say its removal covers 425+ sites, including data brokers, people-search sites and junk mailers, plus Google search results that you pick and Aura submits. Data removal appears on the Individual, Couple and Family plans. It isn’t listed on the Kids plan.
We couldn’t confirm from Aura’s pages that it handles custom removal requests for sites outside its list. If a particular site shows your address and matters to you, check whether Aura covers it before relying on the bundle, or plan to handle that site yourself. Privacy and trust considerations
Identity protection needs even more personal data than a removal service: your Social Security number, financial accounts and credit file access, on top of your name and addresses. A few points to weigh:
- Read the privacy policy. Check what Aura does with your data, how long it keeps your information and what happens when you cancel.
- Know what the alerts can’t do. Monitoring tells you after something has happened. A free credit freeze at each bureau stops new accounts being opened in the first place, and you can use one alongside Aura.

- Spot-check the removals. Search your name on the main people-search sites every few months, whatever the monthly report says.
