As of September 2026, Sprout Social’s pricing page lists four self-serve plans priced per seat, per month: Essentials at $79, Standard at $199, Professional at $299 and Advanced at $399 when billed annually, or $99, $249, $399 and $499 on monthly billing. Enterprise is custom-priced through sales. Listening and Premium Analytics are paid add-ons with no published price, and every plan starts with a 30-day free trial with no credit card required.

This guide sets out what each plan includes, what pushes the bill up, the renewal and cancellation terms in Sprout Social’s published terms of service, and the cheaper or free options. Every Sprout Social fact here comes from its own pricing page, nonprofit pricing page and terms, checked in September 2026. Prices change, so confirm the current figures on Sprout Social’s site before you budget.

Sprout Social plans and prices (as of September 2026)

All prices are in US dollars, per seat (per user), per month.

Plan Billed annually Billed monthly Social profiles Who Sprout says it’s for
Essentials $79 $99 Up to 5 Social media professionals focused on publishing
Standard $199 $249 5 Small teams managing a few profiles
Professional $299 $399 Unlimited Teams handling many profiles with high engagement
Advanced $399 $499 Unlimited Cross-functional teams and workflows
Enterprise Custom (schedule a demo) Custom Unlimited Large-scale social media operations

Every paid plan includes 100 monthly Trellis AI credits per seat and the iOS and Android mobile app. Sprout Social’s own FAQ says annual billing needs one upfront payment for the whole term, and that payment plans with several payments during a term don’t get the same discount.

What each plan adds

  • Essentials: publishing and scheduling for up to 5 profiles, optimal send times, and profile and post-level reporting. It doesn’t include the all-in-one social inbox, keyword monitoring or review moderation.
  • Standard: adds the consolidated social inbox, real-time keyword and brand monitoring (10 brand keywords per group), review moderation, and 90 days of conversation history. Glassdoor, TripAdvisor, Trustpilot, Yelp and WhatsApp connections start at this tier.
  • Professional: unlimited profiles, message tagging, competitor reports for Facebook, X and Instagram, paid social reports, approval workflows, bulk scheduling and full conversation history.
  • Advanced: 20 brand keywords per group, sentiment classification in the Smart Inbox and Reviews, message spike alerts, chatbots, CSAT and NPS surveys, the Sprout API, and integrations with Salesforce, HubSpot, Zendesk, Marketo and Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Enterprise: everything in Advanced plus white-glove onboarding, SSO setup and priority support, on a tailored plan.

For reputation work, the jump from Essentials to Standard matters most. Essentials is a publishing tool. Standard is the first plan where you can see and answer reviews and brand mentions in one inbox.

What drives the cost of Sprout Social

The headline price is per seat, so the real bill depends on how you set it up. Sprout Social’s pricing page and terms point to these cost drivers:

  • Number of seats. Every plan is priced per seat, per month. Three people on Standard, billed annually, is three times $199 a month.
  • Billing choice. Monthly billing costs more per seat on every plan: $20 more on Essentials, $50 on Standard and $100 on Professional and Advanced.
  • Profile limits. Essentials and Standard cap you at 5 social profiles. Sprout counts review profiles such as Google Business Profile, TripAdvisor, Glassdoor and Yelp toward that limit, so a business with several review sites can outgrow Standard quickly.
  • Add-ons. Listening and Premium Analytics are “each available as individual add-ons to the Standard plan and up.” Employee Advocacy and Professional Services are also add-ons from Standard. None of these add-on prices are published; you get them through a demo or sales.
  • AI credits. Each seat gets 100 Trellis credits a month. Trellis Plus costs $28 per user a month on annual billing or $35 on monthly billing, per Sprout’s FAQ.
  • Nonprofit status. Qualifying US 501(c)(3) organizations can get Professional at $239 and Advanced at $299 per seat a month, billed annually, if they commit to at least two seats on an annual subscription.

Renewal, cancellation and refund terms

These come from Sprout Social’s terms of service (effective May 9, 2025). An order form or service order can change some of them, so read yours.

Billing type What the terms say What it means for you
Monthly plan, paid in the app Charged monthly until you cancel on the billing page. If you cancel, access continues to the next pay date, with no refund for unused fees. Sprout can raise monthly prices after notice The most flexible option, at the highest per-seat price
Annual plan, paid upfront in the app Auto-renews each year unless you cancel before the next annual pay date. No refunds for unused fees if you cancel mid-term Cancel before the renewal date, not after
Annual plan, paid monthly Auto-renews for another year unless you cancel by emailing your customer success manager or the success team. Canceling mid-term doesn’t cancel the fees still due You’re committed for the full year even though you pay monthly
Invoiced plans Auto-renew at the end of the term unless you give notice by email. Invoices are due within 30 days or the account may be suspended Check your service order for notice dates
Price increases at renewal Capped at 7% over the previous term, unless Sprout gives at least 60 days’ notice of different pricing Your second year may cost more than your first
Downgrades No refunds or credits for downgrades, and you may lose content or features Pick the lowest plan that works, then upgrade
After cancellation Sprout may delete account information and content within 30 days Export reports and data before you leave

Only the current account owner can cancel, under the terms. If that person has left your company, sort out account ownership before your renewal date.

How to get a quote, and what to ask

You only need a quote for Enterprise or for the add-ons. For the four self-serve plans, the published price is the price, though sales can discuss other terms.

  1. List the jobs first. Write down what you actually need: scheduling posts, replying to reviews, tracking brand mentions, reporting to a boss. Then match plans to jobs.
  2. Count profiles, including review sites. If you need more than 5, you’re looking at Professional or higher.
  3. Start the 30-day trial on the plan you think fits. Sprout says you can switch plans at any time, even during the trial.
  4. Ask sales for written answers to:
    • What does the Listening add-on cost for our number of topics and seats?
    • Is Premium Analytics priced per seat or per account?
    • Is my plan monthly, annual upfront, or annual paid monthly, and how do I cancel each?
    • What will the renewal price be, and is the 7% cap in my agreement?
    • How do I export our data if we leave?
  5. Compare at least one other tool. Our Hootsuite vs Sprout Social comparison puts the two most common choices side by side.

A worked example: pricing a small team

This is an illustrative scenario, not a real client.

A regional restaurant group has two marketers. They want to schedule posts and answer reviews on Google, Yelp and TripAdvisor in one place. Here’s how the manager works it out:

  1. Essentials is out, because it has no review moderation or social inbox.
  2. Standard includes review moderation, but they need Facebook, Instagram, Google, Yelp and TripAdvisor, which is already 5 profiles. Adding TikTok would push them past the limit.
  3. Two seats on Standard, billed annually, is $398 a month, paid upfront for the year. Two seats on Professional is $598 a month.
  4. She decides to trial Standard, drop one channel they rarely use, and revisit Professional only if they need a sixth profile.

The real question isn’t the price per seat. It’s how many seats and profiles you need, and whether you need Listening on top.

Our free platform

This one is ours, so weigh that. Our free platform tags every page-one result for your name as positive, neutral or negative; watches for new reviews and mentions and alerts you when one needs a reply; tracks every result as owned pages climb and old ones slip; and reports back every month in plain English. It doesn’t schedule social posts or run a social inbox, and it doesn’t send review requests or offer webchat, payments, listings sync, integrations, AI replies, or broadcast monitoring and press databases, so it isn’t a replacement for Sprout Social’s publishing tools. If what you really want is to know when something about you needs attention, it may be enough.
