GatherUp Review: Features, Pricing, Pros and Cons
A research-based GatherUp review for September 2026: what it does, published prices per location, add-ons such as Review Defense, contract terms, pros and cons, and alternatives.
GatherUp is review and customer feedback software for local businesses, multi-location brands and marketing agencies. As of September 2026, it lists $99 a month for one location billed annually ($124 billed monthly), per-location pricing that falls as you add locations, a quote-based Agency plan, and a 14-day free trial. Every plan includes review requests by SMS and email, monitoring of 100+ review sites, NPS surveys and AI-written replies. It suits businesses and agencies that want to ask every customer for feedback and manage reviews in one place. It’s less suited to online stores that need product reviews on product pages, or to anyone who only wants to watch what’s said about them.
This review is research-based. Everything about GatherUp here comes from its own pricing page, product pages, FAQ and terms of use, checked in September 2026. We haven’t used GatherUp hands-on, and we don’t give star ratings or scores to any product. What GatherUp is
GatherUp describes its mission as helping businesses “gather, manage and market their customer experience.” Its about page says it was founded in 2013 by local search marketers Mike Blumenthal, Don Campbell and Thomas Hasch, with Aaron Weiche joining shortly after. It launched as GetFiveStars, became GatherUp in 2018, and joined ASG MarTech, a group of marketing technology businesses, in 2019. Its terms of use name the operator as GatherUp, LLC.
The core loop is simple. A customer’s details reach GatherUp through an integration, an upload or a manual entry. GatherUp sends a feedback or review request by email or text, follows up, and pulls the reviews that come in from Google, Facebook and other sites into one dashboard where you can reply. A large part of its marketing is aimed at agencies, which can resell the software under their own brand.
Key features
Included in all plans
GatherUp’s pricing page lists the same core features on every plan:
- Request credits: up to 300 SMS and 3,000 email credits per location per month.
- Review monitoring on 100+ sites. Its solutions page names Facebook, Yelp, Glassdoor, OpenTable and Indeed among them.
- Net Promoter Score and surveys, multiple feedback and review options, QR codes and custom feedback links.
- Replies: AI-crafted replies and in-app review responding. Its product pages describe SmartReply for drafting replies, AutoReply for automatic replies to positive reviews, Suggested Responses for negative feedback, and Auto Reply Templates, where you preload up to 50 of your own replies.
- Display and sharing: review widgets and a badge, a conversion pop-up, and automated social sharing to Facebook, Google posts and Instagram.
- Reporting: a full reporting suite, custom notifications, and AI-driven topic and keyword tagging.
- Integrations: customer upload integrations, an API, Zapier and webhooks.
Integrations
GatherUp’s integrations page lists one-click connections with Mailchimp, Constant Contact, Google Sheets and QuickBooks Online that trigger email and SMS requests when new customers are added. For anything else, it points to Zapier (which it says connects to 500+ apps), webhooks, a free API and custom integrations through its sales team.
SMS marketing and webchat
GatherUp also sells itself as an SMS marketing tool built on review data, with opt-in and opt-out handling it describes as compliant with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. Its menu lists a WebChat widget that moves website chats to text, marked as beta on its solutions page. Its FAQ says SMS marketing and the web-to-text widget aren’t available during the free trial.
For agencies
GatherUp says agencies get white labeling (basic or premium), “unlimited users and websites,” volume pricing and dedicated agency sales and support. It also says it offers ready-to-sign business associate agreements (BAAs) for healthcare clients.

|---|---|
| Published prices, including per-location bands up to 101+ locations | Add-ons for listings and fake review defense raise the total noticeably |
| SMS and email credits, monitoring, NPS and AI replies on every plan | Credits are capped per location per month |
| FAQ says no contracts, locks or termination fees, and you can export customers and reviews | Parts of the FAQ are dated and don’t mention the annual option, so confirm terms in writing |

| 14-day free trial on the Small Business plan | Not built for ecommerce product reviews, phones or payments |
Considerations before you sign up
- Contract and cancellation. GatherUp’s FAQ says it has no “hidden fees, contracts, locks or termination fees,” that accounts are billed monthly and that you can cancel at any time. The pricing page also offers annual billing, so ask how cancellation works on an annual plan. Its terms of use (updated September 18, 2026) say you end the agreement by closing your account and canceling your payment method.
- Your data. The FAQ says you can export all your customers and reviews at any time. Do it before you cancel.
- Disputes and arbitration. The terms include an arbitration agreement and class action waiver. Read them, and talk to a lawyer if the account is large.
- The trial. The FAQ says the 14-day trial covers review requests, AI replies, social sharing, the widget and reports, and that you add a card to activate. It says support can discuss an extension if you need more time.
- How you ask. Parts of GatherUp’s FAQ talk about minimizing bad reviews. Google’s policies prohibit review gating, meaning only asking customers you expect to be happy. Set up your flow so every customer gets the same chance to leave a public review. Our guide to review gating explains why.
- Automatic replies in regulated fields. For healthcare, therapy or legal clients, keep a person checking replies so none confirms that the reviewer is a patient or client.

Get a free auditIs GatherUp worth it? A worked example
This is an illustrative scenario, not a real client.
An auto repair business with three shops wants every customer to get a text asking about their visit, with replies handled from one screen.
- Three locations fall in the Multi Location band for 2 to 10 locations: $60 per location a month billed annually, or $180 a month in total. Billed monthly, it’s $75 per location, or $225 a month.
- Its listings are already correct and managed in-house, so it skips Listings Hub, which would add $40 per location a month.
- It checks that each shop sends fewer than 300 texts a month, inside the per-location credit allowance.
- It sets the request flow so every customer can leave a public review, and has one manager approve AI replies before they post.
For this business, the published price makes budgeting easy, and the core plan covers what it needs. A single shop that only wants a few more Google reviews could get much of the same result by texting its Google review link by hand for free.
GatherUp alternatives
Our free platform (123 Reputation Management)
This one is ours, so weigh that. Our free platform tags every page-one result for your name as positive, neutral or negative; watches for new reviews and mentions and alerts you when one needs a reply; tracks every result as owned pages climb and old ones slip; and reports back every month in plain English. It doesn’t send review requests by SMS or email, run NPS surveys, sync listings, offer integrations, write AI replies or provide a multi-location dashboard, so it doesn’t replace GatherUp if automated asking is the goal. It fits if your main need is seeing what people find about you. Start with a free reputation audit, or see our review management service if you’d like people to run requests and replies for you.
NiceJob
As of September 2026, NiceJob lists Starter at $75 a month and Pro at $125 a month in USD, with “no contracts” and a 14-day free trial. It’s built for home service businesses and triggers requests from job software such as Jobber and Housecall Pro. Our NiceJob review covers it in detail.
Grade.us
Grade.us shows the same price table as GatherUp, starting at $99 a month for one location billed annually ($124 monthly), with a 14-day free trial. It describes itself as a review management platform for marketing agencies, and says every plan can use its basic white label at no extra cost.
BrightLocal
BrightLocal’s Grow plan combines review monitoring and replies, review requests by email, SMS and in-store campaigns, and publishing reviews on your site with local SEO tools. It offers a 14-day free trial with no credit card needed. Its pricing page didn’t show prices to our request this month; as of September 2026, our BrightLocal pricing guide records Grow at $65 a month billed monthly, or $584 a year billed annually, for one location. Check BrightLocal’s site for current prices.
